This is my current wallpaper, which I made myself about... six months ago? It's a blend of a background that I loved, an image I loved - of a girl taking a giraffe for a walk in a city! - and a lyric brush someone else made but that I really like. The 'theme' for this piece was 'determined individuality', reinforced by both the surreal image and the lyrics. I really like the colours and the composition of it, which is why it's my current wallpaper :)

However, I'm considering making a new one - Star Trek! It'll have to be good, though, I'm pretty attached to this one.

Hey, long time no post :) (well, relatively speaking.)

Just a check-in post, really... not a lot going on. I'm in a sticky spot with writing and haven't done any TNT in days. I'm starting to get annoyed at myself. I do this all the time, too.

However, I have been making various graphics things over the past couple of days, for various reasons, so I thought I'd share :D

So I made icons for most of my longer writing projects in the last couple of days, because I felt like it. Even if I'm not working on it at the moment, I felt it should have its own icon. And so I'm posting them here for you to see in case I never use them.




Can you guess, (for the icons where it isn't written on them, of course), which one is for which project? Can you remember what they were about? There may be a prize!

Three banners for you this weekend :) One I made last week and two over the last couple of days. The Supernatural banner (the third one) is the one I'd recommend if you only wanna look at one (time, bandwidth, whatever) simply because it turned out so cool (yes, that is me being immodest. Again.)

McShep - I never know...

I made this to go on my folder for uni, because as a lot of you know I love to decorate my folders. It's big. Like, really big. So if you want to see it it may take a minute to load. But I hope you think it's worth it. It came out really good :)

It's a McShep (McKay/Sheppard) banner, though subtly so. (As in, no outright kissing or anything... dammit.) A lot of the coolness comes from the texture I used for background, which is by the amazing gender, who makes loads of great stuff. You can see it here. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Just met Lucy's boyfriend, Dan - he seems at least presentable and capable of speech, though I have been banished upstairs and out of the way :D They're out walking the dog right now. He kinda reminds me, looks wise, of a young Matthew Hoggard, the England cricket player - same sort of hair, though more tawny. His laugh is sort of annoying, though, like a snigger. Won't tell Lucy that.

Yesterday me and Susan went to London to have a professional photoshoot done, with full make-up and sets and everything. It was loads of fun, and some great shots were taken, though the prices are extortionate and they tried to trick us into paying loads of money by suggesting we were paying £49 for three digital copies of images but we would in fact have been paying £99 because they said it as 'using your deposit, you'd only pay £49 today!' but because we are both amazing mathematicians (read: we have brains) we just kept saying, 'yeah, sure, no' until he eventually brought it down to £57 for three pictures plus the contact sheets with thumbnails of all of them which is actually very good for professional shots.

Also, new graphics work! This has been made for ionaonie to go on her lj, so hopefully she'll like it :) I'm emailing it to her separately as well, but I wanted to show off, so here it is in all its glory. It's a Superman Returns banner, high quality png file, long load but coolies, you may have picked up on the drill by now :)

Damn, I want Lucy and her boyfriend to come back now so we can order pizza because I'm hungry!

I was so pleased with my Superman Returns banner that I decided to make a tutorial for it to show other people how to do similar things, and hopefully have a lot of fun doing it :) So, here goes!
