Birthdays

Today I bought a mid-year diary to help me keep my year straight (since every day is no longer 'school', and thus may become confusing.) What I need from you lot are your birthdays, because I threw away my school planner which had them all in (whoops!) I remember Susan's and Jenny's because they're close to my own, but otherwise... Cazzy's is the 1st November, right? Won't write it in until it's confirmed.

Mine's April 11th, Hollie's is May 20th, Kat's is September 18th and Katie's is August 7th. Finally, I remember everyone's birthday after seven years and now you're all buggering off leaving me with a new set of friends' birthdays to try and memorise :(

Thank you again ^-^ It's useful, even if it's only so that I remember to send congratulatory emails. My diary has Winnie-the-Pooh all over it, it's pretty ^-^
Did you finish your story?

Oh, yes but the mods decided it was too long for the competition (it ended up over 8000 words over) so I didn't send the last part to you. I'm in the weird sort of situation where it's too long for the contest but too short, I feel, for it to stand on its own. I've decided to undertake the massive task of rewriting it (surprise surprise) and add in extra scenes that will make it make more sense. Then I'll see about posting the final version. Thanks for your help and sorry I didn't tell you what was happening; I was engaged in frantic emails with the mods and then it completely slipped my mind. If you're desperate to know what happens I'll send you the last part anyway but it won't necessarily be worth betaing it as the final draft will be way different.

I'd like to see it when it's done, please. Maybe you could send it off to a magazine like I'm looking into for a short story and see if you do well there? It's good enough to give it a go, at least.

I don't know any magazines to send it off to. And it's looking like the final version is going to be about 30,000 words now (rather than the planned 10,000). I would think that's a little too long for any ezine.

Also, thought you might like to know: the waiter pictures you gave me for my birthday went up in the flat yesterday either side of the window. They look really nice. Thanks :) You'll have to come over and see them sometime!

Woo, big extension! Maybe not, then, though some places take novelettes. It's not hard to research ezines for short stories etc if you change your mind, anyway, and I'm getting into that now (for 'In the Green', which I don't believe you've read...), so if you ever think about it you can talk to me :)
