Writing in Heaven and Hell

Another 597 words written yesterday... a step forward through molasses, it feels like, and now I've got to free up the other foot for the next step. (See you in a month)
However, what is good/bad is that I keep having little flashes of inspiration for the following books. I went past this pub when I was on the bus which was called 'The Rose Vaults', which got me thinking of something to use for the second book, and last night I had this really bizarre dream that, weirdly, bookends so nicely with my two-sentence summary/idea of the third book that I've actually written up a summary/pitch for it this morning before I could forget it. This sounds good, right? Except for the fact that I actually have to finish the first book before I can use any of this! Argh!
Flying Prince Pax
Patrick is the oldest son of the King and next in line for the throne. Unfortunately, he’s always being compared to his cousin, Calm, and being found wanting – or at least, it feels that way to him. So when he gets pushed one bit too far, after making a mistake, he cheerfully tells his family that maybe Calm should be King instead, because Pax would be terrible at it, and leaves.
Even more unfortunately for his family, Pax has come into his powers as a Great Mage – and has taken after Foster of the Eagle’s Eye, the only man in recorded history who could fly. Taking with him his favourite dog, and one young squire who refused to leave him unguarded, nobody knows where he has gone – until they find out that he’s gone to the islands of the Melusin, the Sea Traders, and not only refuses to come back, but has requested sanctuary of their sole Great Mage.
Halley Fontanot, Mistress of the Waters, is going to have her hands full trying to sort this one out…
I really want to go to Venice this summer and do 'research'...
