Me and my obsessions

I am a bad, bad person. I keep buying DVDs when I haven't finished watching what I already have. The problem is that I know I have the money so my willpower is about zip right now, and then Dad is sort of low-key disapproving and I feel bad about it. (I bought Lois and Clark Season Two yesterday, and just bought the first two seasons of Smallville from eBay. I got hooked on the fanfic by accident and now want to watch it, dagnabbit.)
I think I'll just go upstairs and watch lots of the second season of Lois and Clark so that I can a) get my Superman fix now that the movie has addicted me; and b) have watched some of my DVDs so I'm not such a silly person.

Date: 2006-07-17 07:57 am (UTC)I want a Clark of my own. He's just a darling. I like Superman well enough, but I love and adore Clark.
I think I'm going to have to go and see the movie at least 100 times more and then i'll be buying the DVD as soon as it hits the shops.
Oooooo, I love that idea. I'd love to stay with you for the HP convention. Thanks hon.

Date: 2006-07-17 08:42 am (UTC)I never call him Superman in my mind, he's always Clark. One of my big 'things' (for want of a better term) is the feeling of being safe and protected, which is why Superman would be perfect XD Have you seen Lois and Clark, with Dean Cain? Sometimes he doesn't wear his shirt :D His Superman is okay, but his Clark is wonderful. A really appealing character, and not as geeky as sometimes. Plus the no shirt thing.
I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the movie again for a little while, because I don't want to see it so often that it doesn't make me feel so strongly about it any more. I want it to stay special. So I'll go see it again before it leaves the cinema, but not just yet :)

p.s. Are you impressed Amy? Look at my comment leaving. *Comment leaving dance*
p.p.s. I know what you mean about wanting to keep a film special so it's like the first time you saw it. I did that with Before Sunrise, left it a year but because I loved it so much I'd remembered such a huge chunk of it (very unusual for me) that the plan did nay work at all!

Date: 2006-07-17 02:06 pm (UTC)I loved it. I really did. I don't care what anyone else says :) I think the thing about Lois is that she's more of a symbol than a character, of what Clark wants - a normal life and a family of his own. She would be more interesting if she were more 3D, of course, but I don't think that's the point. I invested so much in Clark that I saw her through his eyes rather than needing to see through hers.
I do wonder if you're more picky because you want to make movies/direct movies yourself, or if I'm just easygoing :)
