I got two entirely unconnected mentions on the web today on blogs I read due to taking part in things the bloggers were running. One is a literary agent and the other is an author.
First, Wanna be published, run by Mary Demuth, ran my answer to her question "Why aren't you published yet?".
Then, Rachelle Gardner, Literary Agent was running/ is running a writing contest, the first part of which was a first line contest, in which I came sixth! (Out of more than 300 entries!) And got good feedback! And am very excited about it! I don't get a prize, but the recognition is worth it :) Now the next part is to write 300 words following one of the winning first lines, a first page contest sort of thing. It closes in a week, if anyone is interested :)
So mostly this boils down to 'yay!'
