So I calmed down a bit, and here I am to give you the lowdown.

I got BBD, which isn't bad, but it means I dropped a grade on my predictions in each subject. So nowhere would take me for optometry, not with the D. This basically adds up to, I'm going to get tutors and resit some exams, and get an office job for the year. I bought smart clothes today because we were in Reading taking Lucy's exchange partner Amelie (who is an absolute darling, she loves anime and we get along swimmingly ^-^) shopping.

This adds up to: Amy no longer gets pension because she is not in full time education, however job will make more money; Amy has to go see her Grandma at the Family Reunion (DAMN! NO!); all of Amy's friends as far as she is so far aware are going to go away and she will be left here alone; Amy's year has sucked so much ass that three people have been swallowed whole.

Here is a little song I made up, to the tune of 'Bohemian Rhapsody':

I'm just a dumb girl, nobody wants me
She's just a dumb girl, can't study optometry
Spare her this life, get her a job at KFC...

I won't blame you for not reading this -->

1) Amy's guinea pigs die (technically August, but hey)
2) Bad predictions mean Amy has to fight teachers tooth and nail for a chance for offers
3) Offers are not as nice as Amy had hoped...
4) Amy's Mum dies suddenly 22 days before Christmas
5) Amy's dog dies 3 days after Christmas
6) Amy has an emotional breakdown from self-enforced stoicism
7) Amy is basically fucked up
8) In the interim, Amy has gained weight by being depressed and not exercising
9) Amy tanks her exams and goes down like a whore on a millionaire (it's messy and doesn't last long)
10) Now Amy's life is screwed up

I read them as I said I would and there is not much I could say other than offer hugs.

We're not all going away. I'm not going away. We can have, like, anime nights when everyone else is stuck in their umbilical student beds, drinking too much and doing drugs. Or not, on any of those.

I have to say, I really like the metaphor in #9. Made me smile . And don't fret, you did better than me in your A-levels. Plus, think of the benefits of taking what is essentially a year out; you'll be able to work and get money so that you're not instantly in debt, you'll have an extra year's life experience and work experience and you'll have an extra year's maturity on all those first-year newbies :)
