Guess I better find a rock to hide under, one without a postal address

There are only 11 people with my name on Facebook, two of whom have double-barrelled names. Five of those I'm guessing live in the US based on their free census data online.

I feel very findable and exposed right now O-O I found two of my previous addresses without even trying on some of those people-finding sites. Does anyone know if there's a way to opt out of that kind of thing?

Soooo, I tried to google you, and I assume this is one of the websites that came up with your details? They've got a bit on how to remove your details here. As for Facebook, you can change you settings so that people can't find you. Account > Privacy Settings > Connecting on Facebook. I've got mine set so that of my more private account, people can't search me by name or email unless we already have friends in common. Luckily,I don't even go by my legal name online, so mine is less of a problem!

Haha, no problem bb! I have the same paranoia myself, so I google myself regularly to make sure I don't come up too. It's just scary that if someone random wanted to find you,they just could.
