Goals for 2011

Happy New Year! Thank fuck that's over with!

I first did this meme last year and I have enjoyed having goals, though the crappiness of 2010 did somewhat derail me from achieving all of them. However, I think it's worth doing again this year, so here are my goals for 2011.



Practical real life
1. Get a new job that I can afford to live on.
2. Sort out the cracks in the walls where the building has settled.
3. Do the washing up at least every other day.
4. Get the DVD-drive on laptop fixed
5. Only have take-out once a month
6. Learn to use my new slow-cooker
7. Sell my old TV
8. Sell my old laptop
9. Sell my old hi-fi
10. Put clothes away properly at least once a week
11. Rub out the pencil mark above the oven
12. Register the oven warranty
13. Bake at least once a month
14. Empty the three boxes in the living room
15. Sort out the hall cupboard
16. Shred all old paper waiting for shredding and recycle it
17. Sort out pension rebate
18. Redo my budget spreadsheet to reflect current circumstances
19. Register full library membership
20. Make my Last Will and Testament

Travel
21. Visit St. Paul’s Cathedral
22. Visit Westminster Cathedral
23. Visit at least one new town
24. Visit Kew Gardens

Culture and Media
25. Go to the cinema at least twice a month.
26. Watch five ‘serious’ films
27. Watch five classic films
28. Watch three foreign films
29. Read one non-fiction book a month
30. Read at least two books each month
31. Read the books I already have before buying new ones
32. Watch the DVDs I already have before buying new ones
33. Read at least five books outside of my genre comfort zone

Creativity
34. Knit at least three things
35. Learn to crochet
36. Complete Dragonbird and edit it
37. Submit some fiction to agents and publishers
38. Assistant-Produce short film for Concrete Cows Productions
39. Beta at least five stories
40. Take more photographs
41. Write at least one short story
42. Write at least one poem
43. Start playing the flute again
44. Sing more

Fandom
45. Post on my livejournal at least once a week
46. Post at least five recs on my livejournal a month
47. Comment on every fic I save to my delicious
48. Comment on my friends’ posts more often

Social
49. Reconnect with Jenny
50. Keep in better contact with Lucy
51. Keep in contact with Susan and Steve
52. Call Dad at least once a week

I can help with some of these! Not the cinema until I get a job (get 25% off at the Odeon now on Tuesdays. And it's cheaper anyway. *g*)

But Cathedrals? That could be done before a meet?

Hello lovely!

Goals all sound very good and I'm sure regardless of what you achieve, 2011 is going to kick ass! Part of my plans for 2011 is to spend a lot more time reconnecting with friends and a lot less time making excuses as to why I can't, so if you fancied going somewhere for a break (thus completing your weekend away plans!) or even just hanging in MK, that would be great :)

PS: If you also want any recipes for the slow cooker, let me know. I have some great ones!
