A Return to Yellow...

Ah, my first real fanfic :) (My first good one, anyway.) I just got a set of three reviews from a person who must have just found my fic, and one of her responses was to Yellow. She says, 'what does yellow have to do with Sirius' death?' And it sort of made me laugh, because the whole point of the story is that it has absolutely nothing to do with Sirius' death. It's a distraction for Harry, something he can fill his mind with to force thoughts of Sirius out. Harry thinks of the colour yellow so that he doesn't have to think of anything else. It's psychological, kinda. And it's still one of my favourite things I've ever written, even without the wonderful response I got to it. I both love and hate that the best things I've ever written have always been the things I just sat down and wrote in one sitting without having even thought of the idea before, and only tweaked later, rather than the things I plan out in my head. It boths annoys and elates me that I'm capable of that. (I also wish it would happen more often!)
