Sometimes I wish I hadn't trained my anger to embody itself in tears. I say this (though I hate and fear my temper) because sometimes the Angry Psycho response is more appropriate.

Basically, the story behind this is that today I blew my top at my driving instructor. The explanation:

I've been learning with Amanda for a year, and we get along very well, but she's not reliable timewise. Either she'll be early and I'll get to sit through the last fifteen minutes of someone else's lesson (since they were passing through) or she's late and doesn't call me (I end up calling her if it's more than ten minutes.) I let it slide up 'til now, because not everyone is as punctilious as my family and I like her.

But today, she was supposed to come at 8am, so I got up earlier than I would have otherwise (pooped from three exams yesterday), but she hadn't come by 8:10 so I called and got her voicemail. She called back a few minutes later to say she'd thought it was 8:30. Fine. But she'd be here in 20 minutes (at 8:40. Ten minutes after she thought she should have been here anyway.) Fiiine... then she didn't actually arrive until 8:56. I was a bit pissed off, you could say. I'd wasted an hour of my morning to tire myself out, then she hadn't even come when she said she would, let alone when she should have. So I went to her when she arrived and said, "I don't have to put up with this." I sounded quite miffed too. But then she said, "I'm not taking you out if you're going to be like this."

WTF?!?!

"Go back inside, I won't charge you."

So I f'ing well did, because it wasn't my frickin' fault she was AN HOUR LATE and didn't actually seem to think it was a problem!

I had a huge tearfest of fury inside my house, and it took me ages to calm down. I think I'm going to change instructor, which means my test will be delayed. But I'm not going back to her after this because that would be capitulating and saying she can do what she damn well pleases, the bitch.

I really, really wish I'd had my (dry-eyed) furious Angry Psycho response, that would have shown her, because it's hard to look scary-angry when you're crying your eyes out and can't breathe.

So I got one of those con phone calls where they say 'your number has been selected...' etc. It was an Indian-sounding guy and I couldn't penetrate his accent, but I remembered all those scare stories about the lines costing you £5 a minute or something like that so I just said 'no thank you' and hung up without talking to him at all ^-^

It was actually kinda fun, I like doing stuff like that because they don't expect English people to be so rude (ha ha!)
