I was just poking around at grey/blue to see if there was anything about Midnight Blue updating The Mirror of Maybe, when I came across this short biography:

Midnight Blue lives in Brisbane, Australia, and is an accomplished artist, and the author of some of the best fan-fiction ever written.

Now excuse me, but isn't that something you don't actually write about yourself, on a website you own, that's hosting said fanfic? I'm not exactly one to talk about modesty, but really, her and her ego need to get a room.

Some people really have their head up their arse about their fics - there's the odd one or two who have reason to boast (though they're not scoring themselves any points by putting stuff like that in a biography XD), but the majority are Mary-Sue writers that really need squashing! I betaed for one writer who completely chewed my head off when I pointed out spelling and grammar errors that needed fixing - she didn't want a beta, she just wanted somebody to read her fic and tell her it was fantastic ><;

It's nice to have confidence in your writing ability but man, that's taking it just a little too far!

Okay, The Mirror of Maybe is well-written, well-plotted and extremely popular. But you can say that without being quite so self-important.

I have a feeling someone else maintains the site for the author, but I might be wrong. And most people won't put that up for someone else without prompting, I would think. I'm just hoping not to attract wank, really, not that anybody much looks at my lj.

There are two options.
1. Midnight Blue really does have too much ego
2. The comment was not entirely serious. This might be hoping for a bit much but the first time I read the line, I thought it sounded quite tongue-in-cheek.

I really can't see anything in it to suggest that it's a joke.
