And I'm ALL ALONE TT-TT

I haven't met anyone yet because I spent so long putting all my stuff in my room but now it is neat and tidy and AWESOME. And me and Dad went and bought me a bookcase from Ikea so now I have bookshelf space. Yay!

I had kinda a little freakout when Dad left, I have to say. Like, in my mind, 'DON'T LEAVE ME HERE! TAKE ME WITH YOU!' I don't think it's helped by the facts that a) I'm ridiculously good at freaking out and b) Dad and Lucy (and Jasper) are all that I've had for the past year or more and so I'm kinda heavily reliant on them a) for company and b) for the fact that I maybe got emotionally clingier after Mum died.

BUT ANYWAY

Today is Act Like A Pirate Day! Yay!
I no longer have to smell the awful smell that has been Jasper since the Parma Ham Bone!
WAAH I WANNA GO HOME (not really)

Aww *hugs*. I felt something similar. When everyone left, I just sat on my bed for a moment and got hit by a horrid sensation of isolation. It was kind of like I was sitting in a vacuum, only instead of absolutely nothing, there was just lots of stuff that I was unfamiliar with. It actually still happens to me now, whenever I move into my new room, but it's not quite as intense.

You'll be okay, though. :) There are lots and lots of people to meet. How are things today? Met any of your flatmates yet? Found any free stuff from Freshers' events (I somehow managed to miss out on that, so I'm planning to catch up with lots of freebies from careers fairs this year)?

I don't have flatmates as such - we're all single rooms arranged in a quad along corridors, so it's not quite as cohabitive as all that. I've only really 'met' the guy who lives two doors down, Mark, though I can name one or two of the others. Today I met a girl who's on my course and spent most of the day with her (because we had the same meetings), so I am doing it. I'm just rubbish at it so I avoid it, and since I don't drink and I'm not into clubbing and that sort of thing (unlike most people), it makes it harder, because natural homebodies like me are harder to meet in the first place because of our reclusive tendencies :D
