taharielI haven't updated in a few days, huh? Well, I've been watching a lot of DVDs recently. I'm trying to get through some before I go away so I have less to cart along with me (though I keep accidentally ordering more because I have absolutely no willpower whatsoever.) I'm watching Medium at the moment which I'm liking, but I'm not mega-enthused about it like I get with some things. It's fun, it's cool, it's just not obsession material. Now, House was AWESOME. And one of my online accidental purchases was the second season of that, along with the complete first season of Supernatural, which I have been heard describing as 'the show that is so cool that GOD want to watch it all the time even though he ALREADY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENS.'
Seriously, it has Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki in leather with big-ass sexy guns killing monsters. What more do you need?
My life in brief, other than fannishness:
Had a bit of a freak-out after actually meeting Dad's new girlfriend Gail because theoretically it's fine but really it's kinda weird. He was out I think 5/7 nights last week until way after I'd gone to sleep (after midnight) and I felt like I never saw him and he acted differently and it was really getting me into a tizzy. But I talked to him about it and now I feel better and hopefully I'll be fine now. I just still miss Mum, you know? So seeing him with someone else being happy is kinda whacked.
Lucy started going to school again but is either ill again or not making an effort and of course it's the days when I'm supposed to be taking her and I want her to go so she doesn't miss the year and it's stressing Dad out and it sucks. Dan, the boyfriend man, is coming over this afternoon so I'm guessing I'll be making myself scarce upstairs again. I'll take DVDs and laptop and hole up for a while, it'll be fine :)
Jasper is, as always, cute as hell.
I'm getting nervous about going to university now. Will I make friends? Will somebody steal my crockery? Will I remember to take all the stuff I need? Damn, I still have to call the NHS to make sure they give me my bursary, dammit, because they've based their 'sorry, no' on last year when Dad was actually working and this year we have basically no income over than Mum's pension so they should PAY UP, GODDAMNIT. Also have to call two other places. I hate phone calls. I hate talking to people on the phone. HATEITHATEITHATEIT. Don't wanna. But I gotta. So... crap.

Date: 2006-09-13 05:10 pm (UTC)University will be fine! Don't worry about it. Uni is the big Forge where everyone goes as rough metal, and with friends, lessons and life experience you are forged into a beautiful blade, or whatever.
