taharielNot much going on today. Went to the gym again (I finally got back to going yesterday), read some more of my novels (I still have seven or so to read, so that'll keep me busy... oh, for at least the next two days :D
The problem with these kinds of novels is that they can be very OTT about the cliches of the genre. I suspect a lot of people write them because they're popular, using Laurell K. Hamilton as a guideline. I'm reading a book now called 'Awaken Me Darkly' which would be good if it wasn't for the main character being apparently so kickass that everyone knows who she is and is scared of her despite her diminutive size. She can fight off five enormous guys practically by herself, it seems. Hmm. Yeah. Right. Get on with it, please? I'll read it, but I'm not sure I'll keep it. I have a big pile of books going to the second hand shop soonish anyway (and if anyone wants to come over and flick through to take them if they want them, they're welcome. I won't get much at the second-hand place for them anyway. It's pretty much all fantasy/horror type stuff.)
I can't go to the sleepover this weekend, as I'm going to Stratford on Friday night to see 'A Comedy of Errors'. I'm disappointed because that was what I wantd to do most of all, but there you go - I've pretty much been free every other time, so I guess you can't win 'em all. Have a good time, everyone who's going.
