There comes a time in every technophile's life where you look into the dark abyss of the miscellaneous cables box and say "Fuck it, I have no idea what these are for. Let's just bin them."
I can never do that. Even though I have to get everything I have up here into the back of one car tomorrow, I would throw away my Kindle cable or something.
All of them are miscellaneous, not been used in years, unidentifiable cables. Possibly some of them are older than me. They kinda have to go eventually. You're moving, then? Where to? (Been a while since I saw you last.)
Ah, I know that mine attach to mp3 player (not my iPod though, that cable disappeared 3 or 4 years ago), laptop, cd drive, kindle, and camera. Normally takes a few tries though.
Tomorrow. My new rent contract had a £60/month increase on it. Smithdown is not worth £400/month. So I'm moving to Wavertree. The new landlord is picking me (and the fluffy one) at 6pm tomorrow and driving me over. Bizarrely, that's not been the most stressful part of this week (I got the new rent contract yesterday).
He actually lives on Smithdown so said he'd have to drive there anyway but it saves me begging someone at work tomorrow to pick me up. Still have some packing to do.
I feel slightly guilty because I don't think she'll get anyone for what I was paying her before (which is clearly above the going rate for Smithdown now the students have all moved in and some have left) and she does struggle with finances. And we get on really well. On the other hand, I want to buy my own place at some point and this new place works out at £140/month less. I'm not exactly squabbling over small amounts of money.
I hate change so am nervous right now but I think in the long run it's a good thing. Now I just need someone to call me to interview. The UCL job would be the best!
haha, we never bin them! We just gain more and more each time, and my mum uses them to stuff the little gaps in boxes whenever we move house. Probably all that most of them are used for. We keep them all 'just in case'.
The thing is, I've been keeping them 'just in case' for years. So when I was having a clearout today I finally got sick of it and decided to take a risk :D
