Aug. 14th, 2005 02:02 pmBeen reading good manga and a good book called Swordspoint I saw recommended online and watching TV and tidying the playroom so it's all been very busy and not boring ^-^
Had a weird dream last night - we all got sent our results two days early in the post but they'd forgotten to write on my Biology marks so even though I got an A in English and a B in Maths (yay!) I had no idea if I'd done well enough to get into Cardiff... and the first piece of paper I saw was my English only I thought it was overall and it had three As on it (for each unit) and I was gobsmacked until I realised that wasn't overall... and then nobody could tell me what my Biology grade was, even Mrs Flaherty...
I wrote a couple of new HP fics, one of which is in the process of going up on FictionAlley, and another I'm going to work on a bit more. (Thanks, Susan, for reading them over for me. You rock ^-^)
Garcia keeps watching me when I'm in the kitchen. He likes to sit in the dinner bowl because it gives him a better view and it's a little creepy, he's been watching me in the garden too through the window...
Yesterday I baked a cake! It's cherry and banana loaf and it's yummy, but browner than Mum made it because the bananas were older I think but it tastes the same. I made a big mess (as I always do when cooking, as Emma will testify from GCSE...) and forgot the baking powder 'til it was just about to go in the oven, all in the tray and pretty and in greaseproof paper, so I did a dumb thing and tried to add the powder then and use the mixer, but the mixer twirled up the paper too and I had to scrape the mix off the paper back into the bowl and try not to make another mess... it turned out okay, but I was glad I was home alone so nobody could laugh at me at the time. It's funny now, of course!
I've decided, anyway, that I like baking. So maybe when (if?) I get to Cardiff I'll bake when I first get there and give the food out to bribe people to like me (ha ha!)
