Me and my obsessions

I am a bad, bad person. I keep buying DVDs when I haven't finished watching what I already have. The problem is that I know I have the money so my willpower is about zip right now, and then Dad is sort of low-key disapproving and I feel bad about it. (I bought Lois and Clark Season Two yesterday, and just bought the first two seasons of Smallville from eBay. I got hooked on the fanfic by accident and now want to watch it, dagnabbit.)

I think I'll just go upstairs and watch lots of the second season of Lois and Clark so that I can a) get my Superman fix now that the movie has addicted me; and b) have watched some of my DVDs so I'm not such a silly person.

My problem is that I don't have the money and yet still keep spending it.

Ah, the movie. Was it not the best? I totally loved it. Bryan Singer has been confirmed as a genius in my eyes, possibly even a god. I had my suspicions after X-Men, but know I know.

I loved how it was a superhero film but it was so much more interested in the human elements and the characterisation.

Superman's look after the guy shot him in the eye and the one he gets when he sees the crystals have been taken are so my favourite. And him going and re-energising himself in the sun. It was wonderful. And I liked Richard. But Lois bugged me.

In the movies I so don't ship Clark(Superman)/Lois.

Totally fell in love with doofus Clark. The wave he gives Richard and Lois that wave when they are talking about him. Haha.

I loved it. Character dynamics are my special pet love, and I lived for the moments where you could see that depth of feeling between the characters. I don't ship Lois/Clark in the movie, but it made me absolutely yearn for Clark. He was such a dearling, and I wanted to keep him to myself because it was so sharp.

That smirk after the eyeshot - oh god, that did things to me :D

Hey - would you like to stay at my house for the HPCon next year? It's no trouble, and it could be really fun :) We'd go in on the Tube each day.

Tell me about that smirk *fans self*

I want a Clark of my own. He's just a darling. I like Superman well enough, but I love and adore Clark.

I think I'm going to have to go and see the movie at least 100 times more and then i'll be buying the DVD as soon as it hits the shops.

Oooooo, I love that idea. I'd love to stay with you for the HP convention. Thanks hon.

Yay! I'm looking forward to it ^-^

I never call him Superman in my mind, he's always Clark. One of my big 'things' (for want of a better term) is the feeling of being safe and protected, which is why Superman would be perfect XD Have you seen Lois and Clark, with Dean Cain? Sometimes he doesn't wear his shirt :D His Superman is okay, but his Clark is wonderful. A really appealing character, and not as geeky as sometimes. Plus the no shirt thing.

I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the movie again for a little while, because I don't want to see it so often that it doesn't make me feel so strongly about it any more. I want it to stay special. So I'll go see it again before it leaves the cinema, but not just yet :)

I didn't think the movie was that spectacular. Thought Mr Brandon Routhsisface was good but no exceptional (except when you think he's a newbie who carried off the main role of a revitilised franchise). Bryan Singer is of course a god - I think we can safely say the wee character defining moments (Clark goofing) were down to him. Or at least I like to think so. But anyhoo, I thought Lois was so poor that she brought down the whole movie. Were we really supposed to believe that she was a mum and a successful journalist?! Methinks not dear lady. I just couldn't see why Clark would like her. It relied to heavily on the people who had emotionally invested in the franchise before - which is a little tough considering how long ago the prvious movies were. Methinks there was a wee slip up in casting, and in the script writing really. Should have been at least one scene were the audience was shown why he was in love with Lois. Soooo, I've babbled. Woooo! Look at me go. Didn't deserve the 5* Empire review (the only reason I rushed out to see it on the day of release) but nor did it deserve the 2* The Independent gave it. Better than Pirates anyhoo.

Hugs!

p.s. Are you impressed Amy? Look at my comment leaving. *Comment leaving dance*
p.p.s. I know what you mean about wanting to keep a film special so it's like the first time you saw it. I did that with Before Sunrise, left it a year but because I loved it so much I'd remembered such a huge chunk of it (very unusual for me) that the plan did nay work at all!

I'm very impressed :D

I loved it. I really did. I don't care what anyone else says :) I think the thing about Lois is that she's more of a symbol than a character, of what Clark wants - a normal life and a family of his own. She would be more interesting if she were more 3D, of course, but I don't think that's the point. I invested so much in Clark that I saw her through his eyes rather than needing to see through hers.

I do wonder if you're more picky because you want to make movies/direct movies yourself, or if I'm just easygoing :)

I love romance, but I also have a thing for unrequited or even requited yearning. I love Clark and his feelings so much.
