Soooooo... would anybody be interested in going to the sales in London with me on Boxing Day? I know it's not the best day since lots of people do things with their families but I'm basically all booked up the whole rest of Christmas week so it's when I'm going. By myself. All alooooooone.

You know you want to come with me and try on ridiculous things we will never buy and laugh at people with bad taste and find something amazing that turns out not to be on sale but you've already fallen in love with it so you cover your eyes at the till and hand over your card, right? Right?

There's a chance the tube strike will be called off if the current discussions are successful (I wouldn't bet my nonexistent house on it, but maybe). However... will you be able to get to London from MK even if there are tubes within London?

My colleague suggested I think about using the National Express if I'm set on going, which I kind of am. I hadn't realised there was a general train strike on (I don't read the papers so all my news comes from what I hear on the radio or see on the BBC news homepage.)

It's just... I do this every year, and it's a big exciting trip for me, and I don't have another day I can go. So I'm kind of determined to manage somehow.
