Oct. 4th, 2005 08:26 pmTwo days into (one of two) my new job, and though it's mindless I'm not unhappy. It's decent, easy work, the pay isn't bad and I'm not bored because I can switch my brain off while I do it. Yesterday was a day in which I stapled a bazillion pieces of paper together; today I made an Excel spreadsheet of the bazillion people those bazillion pieces of paper represented then called the good ones to ask them for interviews. Here's a hint for the future - when handing out a CV, though you polished it for hours, I look at it for two seconds and decide if you have the right degree for the job. No matter what experience you have or special qualities, I don't look at that. And it's not just that I'm harsh, everyone does it like that. All I want is to be able to read it easily and see logically where you've been and what you've done.
On a funner note, I watched the pilot episode of The Sentinel today! I downloaded it from the site I mentioned before. The picture isn't great and the sound is occasionally naff, but it's watchable. Still love that show ^-^ I'm going to download the next episode tonight to watch tomorrow.
