Passed! Whee!

Exam results came out today and I've passed everything!

Stats - 74%
Neuro-ophthalmology - 71%
Paediatric Ophthalmology - 67%
Investigation of Concomitant Strabismus - 40%

The last one was the nasty essay exam I had to do after spending three days freaking out about Dad getting engaged, and the exactness of getting the pass mark suggests to me that they went looking for marks to give me to let me pass, but I passed so I'm happy! That's two 1sts, a 2:1 and a 3rd.

One result left to come out, don't know when, will let you know :)

40% is a pass? *jealous* But never mind me, CONGRATS on these results! ^_^

40% is a pass, but not a very good one. Do you know the British scoring system? What you really want is a 2:1 or ideally a 1st, but 40% is only a third-class degree, and not considered to be worth very much.

Overall I'm averaging a 2:1, which is good. It's what I want, so I'm happy :)

I know enough to recognize that 2:1 is good, so well done on that! :) I still have a hard time trying to wrap my brain around this system, though. Having to deal with A's, B's and the likes in school was bad enough!
I was just saying that because I have an extremely difficult exam next Monday, which I only need to pass (this won't count towards my final grade but I need the pass to finish the module). And here in Germany, you only get a pass with 50%. I've heard from friends who had to get 60% to even pass, which I think is insane. But there you go. Weird, how these things differ, isn't it?

I guess it depends on the type of exam, how much you have to learn for it, how strict they are abut what you need to know... I have to agree, I was surprised when I found out that a pass was only 40% for most modules. But not unhappy :D
